Vintage Teatime ~ Personal Project

A couple months ago, I went with some ladies to Sweet Shalom Tea Room in Sylvania, Ohio. The yellow house, inside and out, was darling! The "theme" for that month was Sherlock Holmes, and so the ladies who went with me all dressed in Victorian-era clothing. With the vintage room surrounding us, sipping hot tea from flowered teacups, and being served by apron-clad hostesses, it truly felt like we had been transported to the late 1800s. We were able to taste a bunch of varieties of tea, all of them delicious. The dainty food served was yummy as well!

So here is a glimpse of a Victorian tea-time. Enjoy!

Schoolteacher ~ Personal Project

Frontier schoolteacher, alone in the wild.
Teacher of arithmetic and grammar and everything under the pale sun.
Children call her strict; the fierce country calls her brave.

Many thanks to my dear friend Jeannette who was up for an impromptu shoot in the cold!

Sweet Lauren ~ Senior Session

I loved this colorful fall session with the sweet Lauren! The location was Wildwood Metropark, nestled right in the heart of Toledo. It has a lot of great features packed into one place- a gorgeous white textured stable house, forest trails, sunny meadows, a cultivated garden, and a mansion. Enjoy! I know that I did :)

Scarves are really the best.

Lauren's lovely blue eyes were vibrant in all these pictures. I love it.

I was delighted with the light creating shadows and a bit of lens flair below...

Lauren had the idea to throw leaves up into the air - so we did it! It took a few tries, a lot of pictures, and plenty of laughs, but we finally got it! It ended up looking like weather...on the left is a cloud, on on the right is a rainbow. See it? I love those two pictures.

I had a lovely time laughing with you, Lauren - can't wait to continue for Round Two at the art museum!

Adventure with Mercy ~ Senior Session

I had so much fun with Mercy on this cold yet vibrant fall day. Mercy isn't a stranger to being the subject of my photography...if you follow The Visualization Project, you might recognize her from my take on Mary Poppins. Mercy's a great friend of mine, and I was thrilled to do her senior pictures! The location was Sidecut Metropark in Maumee, OH- absolutely gorgeous. I'd been there a couple times before, but this was my first time exploring all the different areas of the park. Mercy and I were awed by its savage beauty, for Sidecut definitely has a wild tone to it. It was perfect for Mercy, because she, like me, is the sort that loves exploring the woods and having adventures. Climbing on top of rocks, standing in the middle of a river, and walking through the forest created a session that reminded me of Lord of the Rings in many ways, which is also perfect for Mercy, and it made me listen to The Song of the Lonely Mountain by Neil Finn from the first Hobbit movie over and over as I edited.
I hope you enjoy this session as much as I did!

Thanks for an amazing session, Mercy!
