Well hey there!
I'm Rebekah Zellers, a 17-year-old who resides around Toledo, OH. I'm in my senior year of high school, but I'm homeschooled- been so my whole life! I'm looking at starting a degree in Visual Communication Technology at Bowling Green State University in the fall (gotta love all that photography, videography, and web design). I love reading big fat books like Les Miserables and Middlemarch, making music through the piano, mandolin, and voice, seeing the changing of the seasons (fall especially), and observing light.
I suppose some would call me quiet- really, it's just I love observing and listening to others. This love of observation has made me a better photographer. I've learned how to read people's personalities, and capture who they truly are through their real smiles and genuine actions. I love stepping back and capturing the moment as the moment happens.
I'm also quite a bit random. This you might not see if you casually meet me, but I'm going to assume that you'll see my randomness quite a bit here on the blog. And if I call you "child", and you happen to be quite a bit older than me...don't be offended. I call everyone that. I suppose you could say that it is my term of endearment.
Most importantly, though, I'm a Christian. I'm adopted as a child of God. This fact changes everything I do. I read my big fat books, seeing God in the characters (Jean Valjean, for example). I make music that glorifies God. In fact, I don't always take pleasure in music that doesn't glorify God. I see the change of the seasons, seeing the sovereign hand of God in creation. I see light, and am reminded that God is holy, and that I am a child of the light.
I seek to glorify God through the gifts He's given me. My goal is that my photography glorifies Him. For every gift of mine, and any good that I have in me, comes from God. So, wouldn't it make sense to praise Him for it?
I trust that as you read this blog, you'll get to know me more and more. I look forward to the adventure ahead! I'd love to get to know you as well- feel free to leave comments here at the blog!
